That’s part of why we’re so excited to share our newest roast with you: Colombia.
This robust medium roast offers a beautifully balanced cup that is both sweet and bright. You’ll notice notes of red apple, cocoa, and sugarcane. It’s a cup that feels beautifully comforting and lively, making it perfect for daily brewing or savoring slowly.
From the Andes With Love
Our Colombia roast begins with beans grown high in the Andes Mountains, one of the most fertile and respected coffee-growing regions in the world; the terroir is simply unmatched. With incredible soil depth, this high altitude provides an ideal climate for these beans to develop their signature rich flavor and complexity.
We are pleased to say that this coffee is sourced through Direct Trade, meaning Twin Valley Coffee purchases the beans directly from the farm. This approach allows us to build meaningful relationships with the producers and ensures quality at every step of the process. This is seen in the way each bean is carefully nurtured from seed to harvest, reflecting the dedication of the farmers who cultivate them.
A Legacy of Coffee
As you can tell, we are more than excited and rightfully so. From the rich soil to brilliant flavor, it all adds to the story. However, one of the best parts is that legacy is interwoven. The farm behind this coffee is female-owned and part of a family legacy that spans three generations of coffee producers.
The story began with a humble farmer named Mario, whose passion for coffee laid the foundation for generations to follow. His granddaughter, Carolina, the owner of the farm, beautifully details the journey:
“Our coffee lineage began with my grandfather, Mario. He was a humble, hard-working man who owned a small farm in Antioquia in the Andes mountains of Colombia. He and his workers farmed with the belief that they were producing the best coffee in the world.
Today, that same dedication to excellence continues through the family’s work at Mina Rica, where coffee farming is not just about the beans—it’s about the people behind them.
Mina Rica is about quality, not only in the beans we grow but also in the lives of the farmers who work with us. From fair wages to direct lines of communication, we believe that only by including everyone in the conversation, by giving everyone a stake in what we produce, can we grow what we believe are the best coffee beans in the world.”
