The Two Drinks We’re Loving This Fall

You know that sweet spot right before the autumn rainbow where the weather is just perfect, and the smell of seasonal shift is in the air? That is the moment that fall enters the chat and begins to beckon us towards the things we look forward to all year long.

For many people, nostalgia comes rushing in. The sight of children jumping into hills of kaleidoscope leaves, pumpkins adorning the front steps, and the immediate holiday planning are all part of the magic around why fall is more than just a season.

For me, nothing is better than a crisp morning followed by a warm afternoon. As I prepare to replace summer clothing, I instantly start bringing out my containers full of sweaters, cute beanies, and boots. I also always find a need to run to Bath and Body Works, looking for five more candles that I don’t need. And inevitably, I plop down on my couch after a hard day of decision-making, turn on You’ve Got Mail, and have apple cider and cinnamon rolls in hand (as is my family tradition). Hello, FALL!

And while everyone’s seasonal traditions vary, the one thing that unites us is the need for a special cafe drink to sip on. So, here are two recommendations to get you started.

The Classic Fall Option

The best thing about a limited-time drink is the chance to miss it. The longing builds up all year, just for that one moment of gratification with the first sip.

This is definitely the case when it comes to the classic PSL, aka the pumpkin spice latte.

It’s one of the few drinks that create a frenzy on social media and cafes everywhere. The taste of fall in a cup is too appealing for most to miss out on. This drink often includes spices such as pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. And while the taste is exceptional, the smell of this drink is equally as wonderful.

Whether cold or iced, many love this drink because it is outside of the box in the best way. Neither overbearing nor bland, each sip has perfectly contrasted flavors that balance and blend so well.

The Unconventional Choice

While the PSL is a strong fall recommendation, it is not exactly the wild card. Our second choice may surprise you, but it is truly an incredible option for the cooler months.

It’s none other than the classic Matcha latte.

No, it may not bring back the goosebumps of fall goodness, but it is a great drink that, in recent years, has gotten more and more attention (and for great reason). Not only does it have an earthy warmth unlike anything else, but this green tea-based drink also has numerous health benefits. As with everything, matcha can be made unhealthy depending on the inclusions, but at its core, there are numerous things worth noting.

  1. It’s high in antioxidants, can help prevent cellular damage, lower the risk of disease, and boost the immune system for the colder months to come.
  2. It may boost brain function and memory.
  3. It can help you lose weight and may lower blood sugar (which isn’t so bad with the holidays around the corner).

With all of these benefits, it is a hidden gem for the fall.

P.S. Matcha can be served hot or iced! Add a bit of milk (or milk substitute), and it is the perfect way to start your morning or end your day in immense peace.

Where You Can Get Them Both

These two drinks will be on our radar all season, and we want you to experience them the Twin Valley Coffee way. Both of these drinks are now being served in our cafes! So grab a friend, a coworker, or anyone else who wants to come and enjoy the season. We’ll see you in line.
